These photos were taken on Sunday the 25th of Aug.
Day 13 (Aug 26) Gracie and Gabriel opened their eyes. Day 14 (Aug 27) Abraham and Joseph followed suit. Day 16 (Aug 29) Henry and Noah joined the rest. Day 16 weigh-in everyone had reached over a pound. Puppy 5 & 6 (Joseph & Gabriel) Just under the wire both at 15.2. Even so, everyone continues to thrive even momma. The puppies are just over 2 weeks old and they are trying to stand. Much like watching a toddler trying to take their first steps, they are a bit wobbly teetering back n forth. Its a true delight to see them progress from one stage to another. The one thing I feel inclined to write about at this stage of the game is pee pee Training pads. While I was in the getting ready stage for the puppies arrival I made sure to have all the supplies one might need on hand and the Training pads supported a dual purpose. A sterile surface for each puppies arrival and a easy upkeep for a sanitized area for the days to come, leading right into potty training. I also needed a way to protect the wood floors in the family room for underneath the whelping box. We measured and decided it would be convenient to buy an extra large crate tray. I search the internet and found a site called For Happy Dogs. They also had the Training pads so I bought both and the shipping was $35 which I thought was due to the awkward size of the tray (not so much the pads). Turns out it was 50/50. After using these pads which again i'll mention were awesome, it came time to buy more. I went back to the site and for the box of 100 pads shipping $17 for a $23 product. Ill be looking for a local pet store that may carry them. Dry Paws is a fabulous product however the shipping cost is extremely high. I Bought 2 different brands at Wal-Mart (just in case)and they BOTH are Horrid! We said well as long as they get the job done...NOT! That's just how horrid these two products are. I'm currently searching the internet for a fail-safe product. |
Our First Bath Sept 5th, 2013Thursday, time for a bath.
After reading Misty's Method for potty training in the very early stages, it only seemed fitting if we were to use this method to start by bathing the pups so as to remove any hints of elimination that may transfer from the potty platform to the bed. We want to keep the bed free from the odor that would attract the pups to eliminate in their bed instead of the designated area. Like Humans they are imperfect little creatures and are bound to make many mistakes. Patience is of the greatest importance along with consistency in keeping up with the pack. Its definitely a committed decision to have a litter and bring them up for the first few months that they are with you. This is where Jehovah's counsel certainly applies. (1Peter 4:8) love covers a multitude of sins (situations in nurturing services). Interested In A Puppy Contact Us at [email protected] for an Application We will Not Ship puppies.
